About Us...
Upriver Fly Company LLC is a small-batch fly tying business focused on producing high-quality, hand-tied fishing flies designed for rivers across the Tri-State region (PA, NJ, NY), tailored for amateurs, enthusiasts and professionals alike.
We began our fly-tying journey by tying flies for our local guides as well as ourselves. The intricacies of the craft challenged us in our creativity (original patterns and unique color combinations), quality of materials, and consistency in our flies. We soon found ourselves tying for the love of the craft and desire to expand our abilities and share our products.
All of our flies are tied using barbless hooks. In the event that we cannot procure a specific size/type of barbless hook, we will crimp the barb. The only exception is our micro flies. Some of our size 22, 24, and 26 flies are micro-barbed and we do not crimp these.
We pay special attention to craftsmanship, seasonal hatch matching, and durable, fish-tested patterns tailored to local waters like the Lackawaxen, Delaware, and Lehigh Rivers.
We also curate and tie flies for destination waters, both domestic and abroad. As our travels expand, so will our specially curated collections. We currently offer collections for the following:
