From Vise to River

Upriver Fly Company started where many great fly-fishing stories begin—along a local river, with a fly rod in hand and a desire to tie something better.

What began as tying flies for our own boxes and a few local guides soon became a relentless pursuit of the craft. We experimented with new patterns, unique color combinations, and innovative materials, always striving to create flies that did more than look good—they had to produce fish.

As word spread, fellow anglers and guides began asking for flies of their own. That's when we realized our passion for tying had grown into something bigger. What started at the vise as a personal challenge had become an opportunity to share proven, fish-catching patterns with anglers who appreciate quality, craftsmanship, and confidence on the water.

What started at the vise for a few local guides is now available to every angler who believes the details matter.

We also curate and tie flies for destination waters, both domestic and abroad. As our travels expand, so will our specially curated collections. We currently offer collections for the following:
