While traditional Zebra Midges are usually tied in smaller sizes, this larger tactical version creates a bold profile that still maintains the slim segmented appearance trout key in on, while functioning as a highly effective anchor fly in modern nymphing systems.  The large tungsten bead drives the fly quickly into the strike zone, making it ideal for Euro nymphing, winter fishing, high flows, and deep runs where standard midges struggle to reach bottom. The combination of flash ribbing, slim body segmentation, and concentrated weight gives the fly both realism and attractor qualities, often triggering strikes from opportunistic trout even when insects are sparse.
